Dr. Hartnell's "Presidential Fight Club" has grown so big and become so intense that it's now conducted in the school's auditorium! As students enter each day, Dr. Hartnell's "This Day in History" is scrolling on the H-MAX during class exchange. This contains 10 events that happened for that particular date. Dr. Hartnell uses this as a way to warm up and get the students ready for the class. [Click picture for a larger version.]
The 10 events picked for Dr. Hartnell's "This Day in History" include military, entertainment, literature, sports, science, and anything else that happened on that particular day. [Click picture for a larger version.]
Part of Dr. Hartnell's "This Day in History" is the "Song of the Day", which corresponds to a song that was the #1 song on that day from any given decade. The "Song of the Day" might be one that Dr. Hartnell selects in order to commemorate a major musical event, an artist's birthday/death, etc. This song is playing as the students walk into class during class exchange. If it happens to be a student's birthday, their name appears on the H-MAX, and they get a birthday pencil! (Of course, the pencil has Dr. Hartnell's birth date engraved on it... because he's subtle like that!). [Click picture for a larger version.]
