Since its inception, the football teams of Hartnell University have been a force to reckon with. Known for their bruising defense and lightning quick offense, the Battling Beards quickly came to dominate the Ohio Facial Hair Conference (OFHC). The winner of 11 OFHC championships, including last year's dramatic victory in Beard Bowl XVII, Hartnell University's football program is an example of "doing it right" - both on and off the field. Lead by the winningest coach in program and conference history, Alpheus Williams, the Battling Beards give it their all each and every season. So put on your "Battle-Blue and White", and join the Hartnell Army in its fight for a 12th conference title!

The "Battle-Blue & You" Great Pizza Challenge
As a way to reward our fans, Hartnell University is once again offering its "Battle-Blue & You" Pizza Challenge! Here's how it works:
1. Follow the Battling Beards this football season on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or this page.
2. After the final score is posted/tweeted (win or loss), be sure to like, re-tweet, or post the update that Hartnell University sends out. These updates will be posted on Hartnell University's Instagram (Instagram.com/hartnelluniversity), Twitter (@PresidentBeard), and Facebook (Facebook.com/DrHartnell) accounts. It will also appear on the official 2018 Beards Football Season webpage.
3. Your class period will receive ONE pizza point for each Instagram/Twitter/Facebook "like", TWO pizza points for each Instagram "post", THREE pizza points for each Facebook "share", and FIVE pizza points for each Twitter "tweet" or "re-tweet" that the OFFICIAL Battling Beard game result post/tweet receives. In all cases, make sure your post or re-tweet is linked to Hartnell University's Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook accounts by using hastags like #HartnellUniversity, #BattlingBeards, #HartnellPizza, or @PresidentBeard. You will score additional pizza points when people like or re-tweet your own posts/tweets. (In other words, if 109 people "like" your Instagram post of the final score, you just picked up 109 pizza points!
4. The class period that accumulates the most pizza points over the course of the season will receive a FREE pizza party, complete with drinks AND a visit from the Battling Beard mascot "Beardy"!

Please don't feel like you need to create an Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook account in order to help your class period's cause. If you have a friend, relative, or parent/guardian on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook, have them like, post, and re-tweet for you! (And you can have multiple friends and family members help you out!) In the event you have someone else do this for you - or if you have an unrecognizable Instagram or Twitter handle (because we don't really want to know who BigPoppaJones4 really is...), simply let Dr. Hartnell know who sent it out for you so he can verify this and award your class period the points.
